Historic Lake Michigan car ferry moves up opening to mid-May, ramp repairs complete

LUDINGTON, MI – The historic S.S. Badger car ferry will begin its 71st season of cross-Lake Michigan sailings on Friday, May 17, officials announced.
This is the second time Lake Michigan Carferry has moved up the season as crews worked to repair the ramp system that allows vehicles to drive onto the 410-foot vessel. The original opening date was set for mid-June.
