Amcor, an international manufacturer of food product packaging, has announced layoffs of 41 workers from its 1500 Aurora Ave. location in Des Moines. The layoffs were announced Wednesday and go into effect on June 1, according to the state’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, site. In a written statement to the Des Moines Register, Amcor said it was transferring sealant and forming film production from its Des Moines plant to other Amcor locations.
