Governor takes push for tribal car tag compacts to social media

After Oklahoma's governor posted to social media the terms of a 10-year car tag compact with the Cherokee Nation late Monday afternoon, the tribe responded within two hours to say no agreement has been reached. "If any compact is reached, tribal citizens and Council of the Cherokee Nation will be the first to know and not through the governor's social media page," Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. said in the statement.
