Metal detectors considered for Kalamazoo schools after recent trio of city homicides

KALAMAZOO, MI -- The Kalamazoo Public Schools board is considering adding metal detectors in schools following an uptick in homicides in Kalamazoo. The idea was brought up by Superintendent Darrin Slade at an informational dinner meeting prior to the 7 p.m. board meeting on Thursday, April 11.
