California sees record-high health insurance sign-ups, record-low uninsured rate

A record number of Californians have signed up for health insurance through Covered California, the state insurance marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act, the 2010 federal law also known as Obamacare. Nearly 1.8 million people enrolled in Covered California plans during the most recent open enrollment period from November 2023 to February, according to Covered California.
