Heavy rainfall leads to street flooding

Street flooding was reported Saturday night in the Providence area as a storm brought heavy rain to the region.
The city of Providence posted on X at about 7:30 p.m. that the following areas were closed to traffic: Branch Avenue at Route 146, Valley at Helme Street, the area around 387 Charles St., and Magnolia Street and Pilsudski Street.
"Remember not to drive through flooded streets," the city said.
Video shared on Chime in showed street flooding on Atwood Avenue in Johnston.
