UW developing new tool to fine-tune cherry blossom timing forecast

Since 2018, researchers have been working on calculating the number of “degree days” needed for campus trees to hit peak bloom. A team of University of Washington researchers is in the final stages of finalizing a tool that will help improve the campus’ iconic cherry blossom forecast every year.
