INDIANAPOLIS — John Rust, a Republican candidate for Indiana’s open U.S. Senate seat, will not be on the ballot in the Republican primary, according to a decision made on Tuesday by the Indiana Election Commission. Going into Tuesday’s meeting, Rust faced six challenges to the Indiana Election Commission, claiming that he was not eligible because he has not voted in two consecutive Republican primaries or had received certification to run from a county Republican chair.
