Delaware Supreme Court upholds one count, reverses another in McGuiness appeal

DOVER, Del. - The Delaware Supreme Court has affirmed one count and reversed another in the ongoing corruption trial against former state auditor Kathy McGuiness. According to the opinion released on Tuesday, the Delaware Supreme Court ruled McGuiness received a fair trial overall but ruled her conviction for official misconduct must be reversed due to legal insufficiency. The Delaware Supreme Court upheld McGuiness' conflict of interest conviction. In July 2022, McGuiness was found guilty of the two charges at the center of the appeal.
