Tornadoes Hit Parts of Florida

Florida has one of the highest incidents of tornadoes per square mile. The coast between Tampa Bay and Fort Myers, the western panhandle, and parts of the Atlantic Coast have particularly high incidences. Since 1996, South Florida has averaged 11 reported tornadoes per year. Since 1950, a total of 154 tornadoes of EF-1 or EF-2 intensity have occurred. Damage, including downed power lines, was also reported near the coast in Dunedin, north of Clearwater Beach, town officials said. Video posted to social media by the city showed walls and roofs...
