Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum announced Tuesday that she will not seek reelection, opening the door for a new state officeholder. Rosenblum, a longtime state judge, was elected as Oregon’s first female attorney general in 2012, easily beating former U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton in the Democratic primary before then-Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber named her interim attorney general in June 2012 to replace Attorney General John Kroger. Voters have since elected her to be the state’s attorney general three times.
