Joseph Biggs, a Florida leader of the Proud Boys on Jan. 6, 2021, has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for conspiring to derail the peaceful transfer of power, the second-longest sentence of the hundreds handed down since the violent assault on the Capitol. “That day broke our tradition of peacefully transferring power,” said U.S. District Court Timothy Kelly, as he delivered his sentence.
