Virginia police have taken a suspect into custody Monday after a shooting at a high school resulted in at least four people injured, including two victims with gunshot wounds.
Newport News police arrived at Heritage High School as students gathered on the tennis courts outside the school building, police said. Police announced that they had a male juvenile suspect in custody as of 3 p.m.
In an earlier update to reporters, Chief Steve Drew said that police responded at around 11:38 a.m. to a report of a shooting. The scene was "chaotic" when officers arrived.
