Three officers fired 19 shots at a student who reportedly refused to drop a gun he brought into a Mesquite school Monday morning, authorities told The Dallas Morning News. About 8:50 a.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to the Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy campus in the 3200 block of Oates Drive, near San Marcus Avenue, after a student was reported to be in the school’s office with a firearm.
