Obama, top congressional leaders to discuss Islamic State threat

President Obama plans to discuss his plans for dealing with the threat posed by the Islamic State and the crisis situation in Iraq and Syria with top congressional leaders next week, according to a senior congressional aide.

Obama plans to host Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Tuesday afternoon in the Oval Office, said the aide, who was not authorized to publicly discuss scheduling issues.
