Memorial Day 2024: Busy holiday travel surge begins at Atlanta airport

The summer travel season is getting underway and air travel officials say it’s going to be the busiest one since before the pandemic. According to TSA, officials are expecting an increase of more than 6% in travelers compared to this time in 2023. Thursday was one of the busiest travel days at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with thousands of people getting a head start on their holiday weekend travel.
