Feds ready to launch auction for wind farm leases off the Oregon coast

The federal government says it is ready to sell commercial wind energy leases for two areas off the Oregon coast, the next step to developing floating wind technology in the state. Tuesday’s announcement by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management does not include a lease auction date but the agency said it would hold the auction and issue leases later this year.
