Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry won a majority of votes in the state’s “jungle primary” for governor on Saturday. He will take office in January, replacing Gov. John Bel Edwards, who is leaving office due to term limits. Landry won with an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. The governor-elect supports a state law protecting babies from nearly all abortions. He also backs a law protecting children from medical attempts to change their sex characteristics.
