Severe storm chances were elevated across the Arkansas River Valley and Fort Smith area Tuesday as a cold front from the northwest moves toward warmer air in the southeast.
Southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas could see storms as the cold front hits the warmer air, the National Weather Service reported.
Large hail, damaging wind and dangerous tornadoes are possible.
Storms in the Fort Smith area could be severe before 8 a.m., the weather service reports.
