Nine U.S. Citizens Killed In Mexico

Summary from the AllSides News Team

At least three women and six children have been confirmed dead Tuesday in Mexico after an attack on their caravan. The nine people, all members of the LeBaron family, were dual-citizens of the United States and Mexico and practicing Mormons, and were reportedly en route to a wedding. According to several reports, there are multiple survivors; the attack is reportedly the work of one of Mexico's prominent drug cartels. President Trump suggested the U.S. military should go to Mexico to combat the cartels, an offer that Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador refused. It is widely suspected, though unconfirmed, that the attack was a case of mistaken identity.
