Target closing 9 stores, including Harlem location, due to theft and violence

Citing rising theft and violence at their retail locations, Target announced Tuesday it will be shuttering nine locations across four states, including one store on 117th St. in New York City’s East Harlem. “We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,” the company said in a press release.
