August Jobs Report Shows U.S. Added 315,000 Jobs
U.S. employers added 315,000 jobs in August, a slower but still solid pace in a tight labor market, and the jobless rate rose to 3.7%.
The August payrolls total marked a pullback from the prior month’s revised 526,000 jobs, the Labor Department said Friday.
Job growth has been resilient this year, despite a contraction in the overall economy in the first half of 2022 and aggressive interest rate increases by the Federal Reserve.
