Construction workers accidentally drilled into a natural gas line, prompting the evacuation of an elementary school in the Cache County town of Lewiston Thursday afternoon.
Cache County Sheriff's spokeswoman Erin Griffeth said that Cache School District officials reported no injuries as more than 500 staff and students were safely cleared from Lewiston Elementary School. 107 E. 200 South.
Buses were dispatched to the campus about 1 p.m. to take students home early from where they were evacuated, a park north of the school.
