U.S. Asks Court to Reconsider Political Ads on Public Stations

The U.S. government has asked a federal appeals court to reconsider an April decision that would open the door for public-broadcasting stations to accept political advertisements.
A three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals found in the 2-1 April decision that a federal law prohibiting public television and radio stations from airing political advertising was unconstitutional.
