Special primary narrows Hennepin District 6 race to Edelson and Simonetti

The race for an open seat on the Hennepin County Board was narrowed to two Tuesday with state Rep. Heather Edelson and businesswoman Marisa Simonetti easily leading the pack of six candidates for the Edina-area seat. In Tuesday's special primary for the Edina-area District 6, Edelson won 3,096 votes, or 44%, and Simonetti got 2,214, or 32%, according to final unofficial results from the Minnesota Secretary of State.
