Salt Lake police receive high marks
In the middle of nationwide protest and uproar directed at police, the Salt Lake police have received high marks from citizens.
In a recent survey of Salt Lake City residents, 75 percent of residents said the police force was professional. This was on a survey that went from 1 — not at all professional — to 5 — very professional. The 75 percent was either a 1 or a 5.

Baltimore Riots Explode Leftist Race Myths
As rioters rushed through the streets of Baltimore, torching police vehicles, looting local stores, and attacking police officers and reporters alike, some intrepid leftists justified the activity.

Obama: ‘No Excuse for the Kind of Violence’ Seen in Baltimore
President Barack Obama said there is “no excuse” for Monday night’s rioting in Baltimore, but said the country also needs to seriously examine the issues behind it.
“There’s no excuse for the kind of violence that we saw yesterday. It is counterproductive. When individuals get crowbars and start prying open doors to loot, they’re not protesting, they’re not making a statement — they’re

Critics of the Iran deal believed the August congressional recess was their best chance to scuttle the nuclear accord, as wavering lawmakers returned home to angry protesters and a barrage of TV ads. The longer the deal hung out there, they figured, the worse it would be for President Barack Obama. Instead, the monthlong break has been a major bust. Opponents of the Iran agreement — led by the

Texas bar owners, noting the success of scofflaw hair stylists, consider opening illegally
A hair salon owner in Dallas, Shelley Luther, was arrested last week after rebuffing multiple warnings to comply with Gov. Greg Abbott's (R) coronavirus mitigation orders. This earned her hero status among some conservatives, an appearance on Fox News, and an about-face from Abbott, who allowed beauty salons to open more than a week ahead of schedule. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) flew up from

OPINION: There's a sobering truth to Trump's racist tweets that we don't like to admit
President Trump's critics may not like to admit it, but there's an element of truth in the racist tweets he sent this weekend.
Trump told four nonwhite Democratic congresswomen that they should "go back" to the "crime infested places" where they came from, even though three of the four were born in the US and the fourth is a naturalized citizen.
Critics pounced. But in some ways

Even by presidential standards, this week has been a particularly hectic one at the Biden White House. Take Wednesday, for example:
