Model Accuses Trump of Groping Her in 1993; Emhoff Ex Accuses Him of Slapping Her in 2012

Allegations of past misconduct hit both the Republican and Democratic presidential campaigns today.

Trump Accused: Stacey Williams, a former model, told The Guardian (Lean Left) that Jeffrey Epstein, whom she was "casually dating," took her to Trump Tower in early 1993, where she alleges Donald Trump touched her breasts and abdomen. Williams said she believes Epstein and Trump were playing a "twisted game," but added that Epstein expressed anger after the alleged incident. A Trump spokesperson pointed out that Williams worked as an "activist for Barack Obama," and Newsweek (Center) confirmed she worked for a political group called Clean Tech for Obama in 2008. The story was covered prominently from the left; AllSides found little coverage from the right, but an opinion from Daily Wire (Right) took Williams' story as a sign that unspecified "media" were "throwing everything at the wall" to try to elect Kamala Harris.

Emhoff Accused: Daily Mail (Right) reported that an ex-girlfriend of Harris' husband Doug Emhoff had "slapped her in the face so hard she spun around" while she was attending a 2012 gala as his date. The Mail's original report on the incident was published October 2, but the ex was reportedly motivated to give her own interview to the Mail after Emhoff's "denial" of the story and his "hypocrisy by claiming to be a feminist in media interviews." Left media widely covered Emhoff's refutation of the story when it first broke, but AllSides found little coverage from the left of the latest development. Daily Beast (Left) called the source an "alleged ex-girlfriend" and prominently noted that an Emhoff spokesman denied the allegation.
