Biden camp thinks the media just doesn’t get it
The vice president’s allies say neither detractors in the media, nor his rivals on the stump, understand the root of his appeal.
The first thing you notice at a Joe Biden event is the age: Many of the reporters covering him are really young. Biden is not. The press corps, or so the Biden campaign sees it, is culturally liberal and highly attuned to modern issues around race and gender

Over Half of U.S. Journalists Don’t Believe Both Sides Deserve Equal Coverage
Over half of U.S. journalists (55%) say they believe that every side doesn’t always deserve equal coverage, according to a survey by Pew Research Center (Center bias). Younger journalists and those who say their outlet has a left-leaning audience are most likely to say equal coverage is not always warranted.
There is a major gap between what the public thinks and what journalists

Can the Government Hide Its Misdeeds as 'State Secrets'?
The terrorist attacks of September 11 and the government exploitation of them to expand civilian surveillance continue to cast a shadow over our civil liberties. Now the Supreme Court is considering whether officials can escape accountability for violating people's rights by claiming relevant information is too secret to be considered. The case, FBI v. The Biden administration has a COVID credibility crisis
A series of messaging missteps is threatening the credibility of federal health agencies, and critics say the White House isn’t doing enough to manage the fallout.
Why it matters: While much of the unvaccinated population is unlikely to be persuaded by any messenger, large swaths of the public are still receptive to expert guidance, but federal health agencies, particularly the CDC, may

Poverty hurts the boys the most: Inequality at the intersection of class and gender
One of the cognitive curses of the human mind is the tendency to chop everything into two: black and white, rich and poor, men and women, North and South, and so on. By instinct, we tend to lump people together into clear and distinct categories, preferably just two. The world seems simpler that way.
But of course, the world is not simple. People are not sorted into neat boxes. One

One leading Republican candidate for Pennsylvania governor wants to impeach Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. Another wants to abolish the right of Philly voters to elect their own top prosecutor, turning it into a position appointed by the governor instead. A third is pushing for a special prosecutor “to address the wave of violent crime that has overtaken” the city.

Fight to clean voter lists gains ground after 2020 election
The Public Interest Legal Foundation went to Pennsylvania with a list of tens of thousands of people who were likely dead, but still on the state’s voter rolls in the weeks before the 2020 election.
The state was totally uninterested, according to Christian Adams, the organization’s founder. But once the election was over, Mr. Adams says, the state changed its tune.
