Ex-college basketball star arrested for killing his mom

A former college basketball player has been arrested in connection with the murder of his own mother in Jacksonville, Florida. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a scene on West 15th Street around 8:30am on Monday in the neighborhood of Durkeeville after receiving reports of a body found in the backyard. After arriving on the scene, police found the body of 51-year-old Erika Winford wrapped in blankets and towels. She was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound.
