Newsmax Commentator Halperin: Biden Exit From WH Race Likely This Weekend

Journalist and Newsmax commentator Mark Halperin says sources have told him embattled President Biden plans to withdraw from the presidential election as early as this weekend, with Sunday most likely.

Vice President Harris, viewed by many political observers as a likely successor to Biden in the ongoing race, is said to be vetting at least four potential running mates. 

Halperin offered this in a posting Thursday night on the social media platform X.

It is reported, though, that Biden would not endorse Harris, who would face an open convention for the Democratic Party's official nomination next month.

And  Biden, under fire over whether, at 81, his health and mental state are too diminished to seek another term, will not resign the presidency.
