Saturday’s 150th Kentucky Derby reminded me of my first trip to Louisville in 1989. This was my first major, national event to cover for the Tulsa World . I was there to see history made when the first Oklahoma-bred thoroughbred called, Clever Trevor, would compete in the 115th Run for the Roses.
