Carlos Alcaraz unseats Novak Djokovic as Wimbledon champion in five-set thriller

After winning five consecutive titles at the All England Club, the Serbian star fell to No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set thriller on Sunday.

Djokovic cruised in the first set, 6-1, but then he lost three of the next four — including the final two after taking a 2-1 lead — and then lost his title as reigning champion when the tournament returns in 2024.

Alcaraz, a 20-year-old from Spain, was ranked as the No. 1 seed entering the tournament, trailing just Djokovic.
