The Details: One-third of the donors were first-time donors. The total will not be verifiable until the Federal Election Commission releases figures in the coming months. Nearly $35 million was reportedly raised in the first 12 hours after the verdict.

For Context: So far, President Biden has outraised Trump in the 2024 race, though in April, Trump outraised Biden by $25 million. The two campaigns entered May with $84 million and $49 million in cash on hand, respectively. The sum dwarfs the $4 million total Trump raised after he was arraigned in Georgia in 2023 and his mugshot was released.
