President Joe Biden’s presidential reelection campaign declined calls from former President Donald Trump and Republicans to take a drug test before their presidential debate.
In an appearance on CNN, Biden campaign spokeswoman Adrienne Elrod was asked for a response to Trump calling for a drug test for Biden before the debate on Thursday.
“I mean, I don’t even really know what to say about that,” she said. “I worked on Hillary Clinton’s campaign, you know, she also debated him very effectively. He accused her of being on drugs.”
Republicans have been accusing Biden of using performance-enhancing drugs since 2020, a charge Biden’s team has vehemently denied. Trump joked about the prospect for months until calling for Biden to be drug tested before the debate on Monday.
