How RFK Jr. Could Join Trump-Biden Debate

It is unclear whether independent 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will join President Joe Biden and Donald Trump for the upcoming televised live debates.

On Wednesday, Biden and Trump agreed to two debates as the pair prepare for a rematch of their 2020 race in November. The first one will take place June 27 in Atlanta, hosted by CNN, with the second scheduled for September 10 on ABC.

While announcing the June debate, CNN said that in order to qualify a candidate's name must appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to reach the 270 electoral vote threshold prior to June 20. They must also have received at least 15 percent in four separate national polls of registered or likely voters that meet CNN's "standards for reporting."

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Kennedy claimed he would meet the criteria to participate in the CNN debate. "I look forward to holding Presidents Biden and Trump accountable for their records in Atlanta on June 27 to give Americans the debate they deserve," he wrote.
