Former President Donald Trump dismissed concerns that President Joe Biden, 80, is too old to run for reelection in 2024, saying he is "not too old" but incompetent.
Trump, who is a few years younger at 77, called Biden "grossly incompetent" during a new interview with Megyn Kelly that comes out on Thursday.
Biden would be 86 at the end of a second term.
In a clip teasing the full interview, Trump tells Kelly, "I have many friends who are in their 80s. I have friends, Bernie Marcus, that are in their 90s, and they're sharp as a tack."
"Not old. He's incompetent," he said of Biden.
Kelly was referring to a recent poll showing that 77% of people think Biden is too old to serve another four-year term as president effectively. The poll also had more than half of respondents saying the same about Trump.
