Performance Food Adds Activist Sachem Head’s Ferguson to Board

Performance Food Group Co. added an activist investor to its board amid takeover discussion with US Foods Holding Corp.

Scott Ferguson , founder of Sachem Head Capital Management, is joining the Performance Food board, the company said in a statement Tuesday. He will also join the audit and finance committee which oversees mergers and acquisitions and strategic alternative decisions, according to a regulatory filing .
