This Veterans Day, we are not involved in a major war for the first time in two decades. We should give thanks. But we also should take care to internalize what veterans who live and work among us have gone through and continue to go through.

As we salute all American veterans on this special day, we must not forget that freedom is not free. Veterans Day is a day to honor and respect those who have served and protected our great nation, and those who continue to help secure our future.
