Rudy Giuliani’s Fall From Grace
Summary from the AllSides News Team
On Friday, Rudy Giuliani was ordered to pay $148 million to two Georgian election workers he defamed, spurring media perspectives.
A Lesson In Loyalty: An opinion for The Wall Street Journal (Lean Right bias) said the settlement verdict “illustrates the fate of so many who promoted Former President Donald Trump’s claims of election fraud in 2020,” mentioning Sidney Powell’s guilty plea and the indictments of January 6 participants as well. It said the only one who may “emerge unscathed” from Trump’s false claims is Trump himself, and that there should be “a lesson in that for those who put loyalty to a person above their better judgment.”
Unappreciated By Trump: A letter to the editor published by The South Florida Sun-Sentinel (Center bias) said Giuliani’s “shenanigans” cost him the national admiration he earned as the mayor of New York City. The writer rhetorically asked if Trump would pay for Giuliani’s legal bills or settlement, concluding Trump doesn’t care about loyalty, and questioned whether he is the type of person Americans should want as president.
“Everything Trump Touches Dies”: An opinion for CNN (Left bias) provided background on the extent to which the plaintiffs' lives have negatively been affected by Giuliani’s claims and said the verdict is “well-deserved.” It praised Giuliani for his work long ago as the mayor of New York City but said since he “hitched his wagon to Trump,” he is left with “devastating results.”

It’s remarkable to see just how far Rudy Giuliani has fallen from grace. He’s come a long way from being the once celebrated “America’s Mayor” to now being held liable for defaming two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss.
On Friday, a jury ordered Giuliani to pay $148 million to Freeman and Moss after making false claims that they engaged in ballot tampering in the 2020 election. These are words that I never thought I would hear, much less write about as I came of age watching Giulani prosecute bad...

Once he was respected as “America’s Mayor.” Now, Rudy Giuliani is liable for $148 million to two Georgia election workers for the lies and defamation caused by his obsession with trying to keep former Donald Trump in office after his 2020 election loss.
Over the years, Trump considered Giuliani as a confidante and his biggest fan. Giuliani tried all of his legal tricks to validate the election for Trump, even losing all those court cases, so he lied about the counting of the votes. Rudy’s shenanigans only got him deeper in debt,...

The tragedy of Rudy Giuliani continues to escalate with last week’s jury award of $148 million in a defamation suit brought by two Georgia election workers. What a long, strange decline it’s been for the former mayor who rescued New York City from a previous era of progressive decline.
The eight-member Washington, D.C., jury awarded the two election workers three times more than the $48 million they sought, and that is likely to be reduced by the trial judge or an appellate court.
But Ruby Freeman and Wandrea ArShaye Moss,...
