Correction officer stabbed at Garner Correctional Institute: union
A correction officer at Garner Correctional Institute in Newtown was stabbed in the neck Tuesday morning, according to the union.
A statement from Mike Vargo, president of the AFSCME Local 1565, said the correction officer sustained a significant injury and he was taken to a local hospital to be treated.
