Hurricane Melissa crashed into Jamaica on Tuesday afternoon, bringing with it torrential rain, life-threatening storm surges and powerful winds. Videos show devastating floods across the island, while officials confirm widespread devastation, including damaged hospitals and blackouts with more than 530,000 left without power. The National Hurricane Center said that Melissa's 185 mph winds have now dropped to 145mph, bringing the storm down from a category 5 to a category 4, as it moved across the island. Jack Beven, the NHC's senior hurricane specialist, said the hurricane is unlikely to re-intensify to a Category 5 storm before it makes landfall in Cuba either later tonight or in the early hours of Wednesday...
