Oasis A Safe Haven opens for first time since 2020 hurricane

The shelter at Oasis A Safe Haven has officially reopened its doors. On Tuesday, Oasis held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening of the renovated facilities. Oasis is a Lake Charles-based domestic and sexual violence non-profit agency that has served Southwest Louisiana since 1979. In 2020, Hurricane Laura gutted the facilities, forcing the shelter to close for nearly four years.
