A tornado watch has been issued for St. Louis and much of the surrounding area until 8 a.m. Tuesday. A line of thunderstorms is expected to move across the metro area from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m. Heavy rain and lightning will be common. Some storms may produce wind gusts up to 70 mph and up to quarter size hail. A couple of brief EF0 or EF1 tornadoes could occur as well.
