Capping a tumultuous weekend, Microsoft said it’s hiring Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, until last week’s OpenAI’s chief executive and president, to lead a new advanced artificial-intelligence research team as OpenAI turned to Emmett Shear to run the organization.
