Automaker Stellantis and battery manufacturer Samsung SDI announced plans Wednesday to spend $3.2 billion to build a second electric-vehicle battery plant in Kokomo, creating up to 1,400 jobs. The announcement comes 17 months after Chrysler parent Stellantis and Samsung SDI said they planned to spend $2.5 billion to build their first Indiana EV battery plant, which is now under construction in Kokomo and is also expected to create 1,400 jobs.
