Military.com Rated Lean Left in Jan. 2025 Editorial Review

In Jan. 2025, a multipartisan AllSides panel conducted an Editorial Review, resulting in a Lean Left (-1.00) rating for Military.com.

The panel identified several instances of viewpoint omission, slant, sensationalism, and subjective qualifying adjectives which appeared to appeal to left-leaning perspectives. For example, one article referred to Jan. 6th as a “riot” and an “assault,” while another article took an emotional tone when discussing policy changes regarding transgender military members, omitting perspectives from those who oppose transgender individuals serving in the military.

Additionally, the panel observed that many articles were republished from the Associated Press, which, at the time, AllSides rated as Left (-3.10), further contributing to the outlet’s overall Lean Left rating.
