Former Trump Advisor Steve Bannon Arrested on Fraud Charges

On Thursday, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon was arrested and charged with defrauding hundreds of thousands of donors to the “We Build the Wall” crowdfunding campaign under the alleged “false pretense” that all of the funds would go towards constructing a border wall. The campaign raised about $25 million, contributing about $11 million to border wall projects while Bannon allegedly siphoned off $1 million for himself. The other leaders of the campaign — Brian Kolfage, Andrew Badolato and Timothy Shea — were also charged. Bannon’s arrest and indictment was covered by outlets on all sides.
