Superbug Linked to 2 UCLA Hospital Deaths

California public health authorities are tracking down 179 patients who may have been exposed to a “superbug” bacteria at Ronald Reagan Medical Center at the University of California at Los Angeles after two people died following infection from contaminated medical scopes.

Seven patients — including two who died — have been infected with an antibiotic-resistant and potential deadly "superbug" likely transmitted by contaminated medical instruments at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, hospital officials said.
