New Luzerne County personnel report released - Times Leader
Twenty Luzerne County government workers were hired in May, while the same number left county employment due to resignations, retirements or other personnel actions, according to the latest monthly personnel report. Seventeen additions are new employees, while three are prior workers hired back, it said. In correctional services, five prison corrections officers were hired at $17.27 per hour:

Garfield National Historic Site to host author talk by C.W. Goodyear
The National Park Service staff of James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor recently announced a special event with author C.W. Goodyear at 2 p.m. June 16. Goodyear is the author of the book “President Garfield: From Radical to Unifier,” the first new birth-to-death biography of Garfield in over 40 years, according to a news release. Simon and Schuster published the book last July.
