City of Akron settles civil rights lawsuit with Jayland Walker protesters
SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The City of Akron has reached a settlement in a civil rights lawsuit with Jayland Walker protesters. According to a news release, the city agreed to pay $747,000 to the plaintiffs. Jayland Walker, 25, of Akron, was shot and killed by Akron police on June 27, 2022 after an attempted traffic stop.
